On March 11, 2018 St. Petersburg State University and its permanent partner Russian Language and Culture Center “Russian Word” took part in the 35th International Exhibition of Publishing Houses and Educational Institutions in The MET hotel (Thessaloniki).
The team of Russian Word, for several years successfully carrying out activities in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language, developing and testing the Russian language assessment materials, was happy to present its stall “Territory of successful communication”. Also Russian language learners and teachers got informed about our priority areas: certification testing in Russian as a foreign language, obtaining education in Russia, etc.
A completely new format of cooperation betwee St. Petersburg State University and Russian Word was presented. It is designed to facilitate the promotion of the educational services of the St. Petersburg State University in Greece at the official level.
During the exhibition, a special guest presentation of SPbU International Russian Institute highlighted the benefits of studying at SPbU, as well as scholarships for those wishing to receive higher education in Russia.
Higher School in Russia is more than 250 000 students from 160 countries every year. St. Petersburg State University today is one of the largest scientific and educational centers in Europe and the world. It means more than 30 thousand students, Nobel Prize and Fields Medal prize-winning professors, more than 15 large laboratories and 26 resource centers that are part of the leading scientific park in the country. St. Petersburg State University implements 398 major educational programs in various areas of training (11 secondary vocational education, 12 general education programs, 28 clinical residences, 64 postgraduate courses in scientific specialties, 102 bachelor’s and specialist programs, 181 master’s programs) and 972 additional education programs.
The main event of the international exhibition was the solemn awarding ceremony of certificates for the Russian language as a foreign language based on the results of the winter session organized by St. Petersburg State University Language Testing Center and held in Thessaloniki on February 17-18, 2018. For the first time certificates were issued in such a short time. Documents on the successful passing of the exam were delivered to 130 students.
At final stage of the event, the director of the Russian Word Tatyana Zhuravleva thanked the colleagues from SPbU for the stable high level of cooperation, as well as for the professional competence that ensured constructive organization of the 4th joint certification session.
